On August 11th, 2023, 17 students from the Marburg University in Germany visited the School of Pharmacy of Tongji Medical College to carry out a 14 days visiting.
From August 11th to August 21th, the Germany students join in the laboratories of the School of Pharmacy for internship and exchange, and participated in the scientific experiments of natural medicine chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical analysis and pharmacology with the teachers and graduate students of School of Pharmacy. From August 21th to August 25th, the Germany students went to Lushan Mountain for the field practices with the undergraduates of the School of Pharmacy. Professor Jianping Wang and his team taught medicinal botany courses to the German students, introduced the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, and led the students to visit the first scientific botanical garden in China, Lushan Botanical Garden. Through the field practice, the German students learned about the medicinal plant resources in the subtropical mountain and Poyang Lake wetland in Lushan area, and learned to distinguish the medicinal plants such asTaxus chinensis,Mangnolia officinalis,Pteroceltis tatarinowii,Paris polyphylla,Dysosma versipellis, wild pepper, dark mushroom, and liverwort. At the same time, they also enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery of Lushan Mountain and visited the cultural attractions, and the German students reported a great harvest.
This exchange visit, especially the field practice in Lushan Mountain, was a special international exchange program between the School of Pharmacy of Marburg University and the School of Pharmacy of our University for nearly 10 years. Marburg University has held the Partner University days on our campus, and signed the Sino-German Natural Medicine International Cooperation Joint Laboratory agreement, and has a long-term and in-depth cooperation in personnel training and cooperative research, and have achieved practical results and formed a profound friendship. In the future, we will further deepen exchanges and cooperation and open a new chapter of exchanges and cooperation through inheritance and friendship.
