On March 8th, a seminar on the construction of the clinical pharmacy program was held in the conference room on the first floor of the No. 2 Building, School of Pharmacy, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Zhang Yu (secretary of the Party Committee of Union Hospital), Ke Changjian and Xiang Ming (associate deans of the Undergraduate School of HUST), Wang Ying (deputy director of the Admissions Office), Liu Zaihua (director of the Medical Academic Affairs Section), Zhang Jinxiang (vice president of Union Hospital), Lv Yongning (director of the Department of Pharmacy of Union Hospital), Zeng Fang (secretary of the General Party Branch of Union Hospital), Liu Dong (director of the Department of Pharmacy of Tongji Hospital), as well as other hospital-related departments and all leading team members of the School of Pharmacy and members of the Teaching Steering Committee attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Yonghui, Dean of the School of Pharmacy.
Zeng Fang firstly made a report on "Exploring the cultivation program of clinical pharmacy specialty of Huazhong University of Science and Technology", made a detailed introduction and analysis of the existing cultivation mode and academic system of clinical pharmacy specialty, and put forward suggestions on the cultivation mode and academic system of our clinical pharmacy specialty according to the characteristics of HUST.
Subsequently, Zhang Yu proposed four orientations of clinical pharmacy talent training, namely, orientation to major national needs, orientation to former frontiers of clinical pharmacy, orientation to the world, and orientation to talent market needs. Liu Dong, in view of the current demand and shortage of clinical pharmacy professionals, suggested that we should cultivate the specialty based on the market, connect teaching and employment, and develop a long-learning talent training program. Li Yan, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Pharmacy, combined with the "Health China 2030" program issued by the State Council of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, proposed to cultivate a training program for clinical pharmacy professionals with the characteristics of the school, and focused on the "faculty connection", "curriculum connection", "curriculum connection", and the "training program for clinical pharmacy professionals".
At the end of the seminar, Ke Changjian highly evaluated the training program for clinical pharmacy specialty and thought that the program has a high position, a wide vision and a solid landing. At the same time, he briefly introduced the policy of the enrollment and graduate student exemption of HUST. In addition, he suggested expanding the export of talent training and rationalizing the relationship between clinical pharmacy and pharmacy. In the end, Zhang Yonghui pointed out to seize the opportunity to make clinical pharmacy a leading and iconic specialty and cultivate the best students.
